Travelling to Schlüttsiel from south you may choose the A7 motorway which you exit at "Flensburg/Harrislee", the last exit before reaching the German/Danish borderline. Subsequently, you continue travelling on the B199 National Road via Leck to Niebüll and subsequently follow signs to Schlüttsiel. Alternatively, you may travel on the A23 motorway via Heide in direction to Husum. Once you have reached the end of the motorway, you continue on the B5 National Road, passing Husum and Bredstedt. Having passed Bredstedt, you will find signs giving you directions to Schlüttsiel.

Next international airport is Hamburg (HAM). Rental cars can be obtained directly at the airport. Departing from Hamburg Airport by car you will immediately find signs directing you to the A7 motorway.
