Schlüttsiel Ferry Port has no direct railway connection, closest railway station is Husum at the Hamburg-Westerland train route. A regular bus services links Husum Railway Station with Schlüttsiel Ferry Port several times daily.

To reach Schlüttsiel, passengers may use the German Railway's daily InterCity / EuroCity trains via Hamburg to Husum. IC/EC trains to Husum depart from numerous German cities, including Berlin, Dresden, Hanover, Frankfurt/Main, Cologne, Bonn, etc. Alternatively, Nord-Ostsee-Bahn's Regional Express Trains departing from Hamburg-Altona to Husum/Westerland may be chosen. Schedules of the bus service operating on the Husum-Schlüttsiel route are coordinated with train arrivals/departures at Husum Railway Station. Tickets for the bus service may be purchased from the driver, combined tickets including both bus ride and ferry crossing to Hallig Hooge, Hallig Langeneß and Wittdün/Amrum are on sale.

Closest international airport is Hamburg (HAM). Passengers continuing the ir journey by train may use the Airport Express Bus service between the airport and Hamburg Central Station (duration of bus journey approximately 25 minutes, departures every 15 to 30 minutes). Notice that InterCity and EuroCity trains depart from both Hamburg Central and Hamburg-Dammtor Station. Nord-Ostsee-Bahn's Regional Express Trains, on the contrary, depart from Hamburg-Altona Station only. These trains do not stop at Hamburg Central and Hamburg-Dammtor Station!
