Excursions to Sylt

Much has been written and reported about the northernmost of our North Sea islands - it is rightly on everyone's lips. Whether party mile, nature experiences, history and culture or culinary delights and shopping: Sylt leaves no holiday wish unfulfilled. Take a day trip to what is probably Germany's most famous holiday island and see its beauty for yourself!

Westerland

On the one hand, Westerland is the lively side of the island. Life pulsates here; an extensive pedestrian zone spoils you with elegant shops, cosy cafés and rustic pubs. At the same time, the extensive, fine sandy beach offers plenty of space to enjoy the tranquillity and closeness to nature.

Explore Germany's most famous island with all its different facets. An excursion to the famous red cliff with its Quermarkenfeuer lighthouse, pictured here, or the sunset in Westerland, for example, are destinations well worth seeing.

Keitum

Keitum, also known as the "green heart of the island", is a tranquil village on the eastern side of Sylt. It delights visitors with its pretty thatched-roof houses, Frisian walls and idyllic alleyways. Three museums bring you closer to the island's past.

Morsum

Morsum is the epitome of tranquillity and idyll. Here, on the easternmost part of Sylt, you can get an impression of the original Sylt. The Morsum cliff is a popular excursion destination and photo motif at any time of year.

Kampen

Kampen, probably the most prominent village on the island, has a special charm with its beach, the red cliff and the unique heath landscape. Those who like exclusive shopping opportunities will also get their money's worth here.

Cunning

List is the northernmost municipality in Germany. All roads lead to the harbour, where fish stalls promise culinary delights. The ferry to Rømø in Denmark also departs from the harbour.

Hörnum

Hörnum, in the far south, is the port of call for all those who take the excursion boats to the neighbouring islands of Föhr and Amrum.
